Queen of the Arts Suzette Watson
PORTFOLIO SHOOTS FOR SUZETTE WATSON
For this photo shoot, I hired Aura Studio in Weedon, a spacious and truly stunning studio managed by my friend Emily Ellis, who is an excellent host to her fellow photographers. I wanted to capture some Dance as well as have an amazing set, my own studio in Banbury is more equipped for Portraits. We started the day early Suzette set up the scene with some key artifacts, that she had brought along all symbolic to the message, in collaboration Emily and I also added some elements, but on this occassion it was Suzette's genius that brought it all together knowing precisely how and where she wanted everything placed.. Her eye for detail and the intentional touches she added are unparalleled. The set itself took a few hours to assemble before I could start taking photos. Looking back, I wish I had captured more of the set's creation, but I wasn't lacking in images from the shoot—in fact, I took too many. In Suzette's words, "I loved 95% of all the images; they were so good I didn't know which to choose". So she chose 40 and wanted them in a painterly style.
Once we had captured these images, with only 20 minutes left until the end of our studio hire, Suzette quickly changed outfits, and we used the dynamic props available at the studio to capture some improvised dance. Intially I felt concerned that we didnt have enough studio time to truly capture the Dance shots but I was amazed by the impressive flow of contemporary dance that Suzette, seemingly without effort, delivered, providing one pose-worthy shot after another. I honestly wish we'd had a n hour more, but we love the results. We wanted to focus on shapes which is something my portfolio and style is all about, and we got some stunning results! Suzettes exceptional talent absolutely blew me away!
